NOUVELLES DU CONSEIL D’ADMINISTRATION

Suite à l’Assemblée Générale d’octobre, le Conseil s’est réuni en décembre afin de discuter de la modification des statuts concernant les mandats et les élections des membres du conseil et du bureau. Nous poursuivrons cette discussion début février et transmettrons une proposition à l’ensemble des membres en février en vue de voter à notre prochaine AG à Strasbourg.

 Nous tenons à remercier les personnes ayant répondu à l’appel d’offre pour le « relooking » du site web, autre projet qui fera l’objet d’un compte rendu en mars et verra le jour avant septembre.

 DECEMBER 2 WORKSHOP ON ADJUNCT INSTRUCTORS

 Thank you to Scott Blair, Academic Dean of the CEA-Paris Global Campus, for hosting a group of 15 or so APUAF members who gathered to share ideas and discuss the status of adjunct instructors and pedagogical issues in their programs in France. Scott will lead a town-hall discussion on this important topic at the annual conference of the Forum on Education Abroad in Denver in March (see info below).

-co-organized by Hannah Taieb (CIEE-Paris ) and Amy Tondu (Middlebury-Paris).

Held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Studio Mode 43 rue du Sentier Paris 2ème.

Workshops are open to APUAF members who may send up to 2 representatives.

 ANNUAL RESIDENT DIRECTORS’ MEETING IN Strasbourg – Friday, March 16, 2012

As always, this meeting is also open to non-APUAF members. Fee (including lunch): 50€. Lunch for APUAF members: 20€.

A preliminary schedule and hotel recommendations were sent to members in mid-December and are available on the web site. If you have not booked your travel yet, we advise you to do so as soon as possible. Because we will be meeting and having lunch at the Council of Europe, we must know exactly who will attend by mid-February. The 3 hotels recommended by Raymond Bach: Hannong Hotel (www.hotel-hannong.com); Hotel Beaucour ( www.hotel-beaucour.com ); Hôtel Citadines ( www.citadines.com ).

 ASSEMBLEE GENERALE – SATURDAY, March 17 in STRASBOURG

An agenda will be sent via e-mail to member institutions in mid-February. This meeting will be held on Saturday morning at the Syracuse University center in Strasbourg. Due to space limitations, we need to have an idea of attendance. Please rsvp to info@apuaf.orgbefore February 15 to let us know who will represent your program.

As indicated above, members will vote on changes to the by-laws prior to next October’s council elections. Five of the current members currently serving a second term are due to step down, including the three officers. All members are urged to consider running for the council. L’avenir de l’association est l’affaire de tous!
