Responsibilities :

Primary Responsibilities

·         Manage academic databases

·         Manage student registration in IES Abroad courses and partner university courses

·         Manage internship agreements (conventions de stage)

·         Manage the academic content of the internship program

·         Develop pool of internship placements and manage best fit placements of students into internships

·         Enter courses into IES Abroad system for each term

·         Organise weekly course schedule for each term

·         Serve as primary academic advisor

·         Manage attendance, including entering data into IES Abroad system

·         Manage academics for Customized Programs and assist with organization for and with Customized Program as needed

·         Collect and enter grades into IES Abroad system

·         Scan partner school transcripts and add documents to each student in IES Abroad system

·         Report grades to IES Abroad headoffice before the release of transcripts

·         Report on enrollments (e.g. number of students in IES Abroad and partner university courses, number of courses per student, number of credits per student)

·         Collect syllabi from faculty and update as necessary

·         Prepare materials for the IES Abroad Curriculum Committee, including translations as needed

·         Assist the Center Director in the development of academic programs and new courses

·         Manage course and program evaluations

·         Coordinate mid-term and final exams

·         Oversee classrooms and teaching supplies

·         Organize and conduct the Pre-orientation session on Academics before semester starts

·         Organize orientation sessions in coordination with other staff members

·         Maintain relations with Nice partner institutions (e.g. Skema Business School Campus Sophia Antipolis, internship institutions etc.) and others that may be added

·         Administer Moodle (e-Learning platform), including importing courses, students, and faculty; posting program news; updating information each semester, e.g. resources about partner university courses

·         Maintain positive and professionally-constructive relationships with IES Abroad faculty: develop a wide range of pedagogical supports such as books, educational technology of various sorts, DVDs, newspapers, and online access to relevant newspapers; provide feedback from students; develop communication tools such as a Moodle professor’s page including shared resources, a professor-to-professor forum, and cross-disciplinary projects

·         Manage library systems, acquisitions and loans

·         Create and maintain a partnership with public libraries

·         Contact IT support as needed for computer and IT issues

·         Provide general day-to-day support for student computers (e.g. Wi-Fi, printers)

·         Purchase office supplies

·         Manage course pack production, book orders, and copyright issues

·         Participate in Field study trips, cultural activities and CORE

  • Excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • A strong commitment to education
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of French and American higher education
  •  

Qualifications :

  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Legal right to work in France

Other :

Conditions :

Occasional travel to U.S. or in France

Monthly emergency phone on-call duty during off-work hours on rotation basis woth other staff for a period of one week at a time
