Responsibilities :

This is a key position in the school’s administration and development. It includes two types of responsibilities with some synergies between the two.

As Financial Aid Officer, you are responsible for managing all functions of an organized, compliant student financial aid program, with a heavy focus on U.S. Federal loans and Veterans’ Affairs Benefits.

As Admissions Officer, your responsibility is to manage the admissions operations, as well as some student recruitment activities. The position also includes assistance with pre- and post-enrollment student services. 

The breakdown of your time between the two types of duties will vary during the year.

The Admissions and Financial Aid Officer reports directly to the Director of the school, and works in collaboration with the Academic Coordinator, as part of the small, team-spirited and mission-driven administrative staff. 


1. Financial aid duties:

• Advise applicants and students on financial aid resources, eligibility and procedures (Federal loans, Veterans’ Affairs Benefits, Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, School scholarships, private loan options)

• Manage federal loan origination and disbursement; certify VA Benefits

• Ensure that the school remains in compliance with the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs regulations, including, but not limited to: student enrollment, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), student information security, annual audit requirements, and institutional certification and reporting.

• Ensure that the school’s website is clear and up-to-date relating to information on financial aid programs and requirements

• Manage student billing and tracking of payments; provide reporting and forecasts on tuition and financial aid funds

• Assist with the annual financial statement and compliance audits

2. Admissions duties:

• Serve as the point person for applicants and potential applicants regarding admissions policies and procedures, managing inquiries and outreach, tracking application submissions and payments

• Advise students on visa, housing, healthcare, banking and other French administration services during the application process and after enrollment

• Manage the student application portal and CRM

• Contribute to recruitment and marketing activities (educational fairs, recruitment webinars, directories…), keeping abreast of recruitment opportunities, making recommendations, managing implementation, and representing the school at recruitment events (including international)

• Contribute to short- and long-term recruitment and marketing strategy

• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences

• Exceptional time management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task

• Ability to be flexible and adaptable

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team


Qualifications :

• Have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business

• Have a minimum of three years of professional experience working in higher education (preferably U.S. higher education)

• Be a native speaker of English (all internal operations and communications with the various audiences are in English)

• Have at least a C1 level in French (necessary to advise students on French administration procedures)

• Intermediate skills on Microsoft applications (especially Excel) and CRMs

• Authorization to work in France

Other :

• Annual gross salary: 33,000-42,000 Euros, depending on experience

• Benefits: Health insurance (mutuelle), Pass Navigo subsidy (50%)

• Start date: As soon as possible; training period of two to four weeks should be scheduled before August 31st, 2022.

• Covid-19 vaccination required
