Responsibilities :

The St. John’s Paris Association invites applications for qualified professors to teach International Communication & Global Development in the Department of Mass Communication for the Office of International Education at St. John’s University. This position is a fixed-term, temporary teaching assignment for the  Fall 2023 semester, i.e. un contrat à durée déterminée.

Course Description:

COM 3103 Students will learn how communication plays a central role in global development in a pluralistic society. This course encompasses a broad range of theoretical and historical studies of communication and media, their role in shaping and effecting public policy, and understanding development communication, and development of global communication structures. A particular focus will be paid to development media and the inter-relationship between communication and development and advocacy communication. (Credit: 3 semester hours)

Skills :

·        Proficiency in English

·         Experience in teaching, particularly in an English-language context

·         European Union citizenship or legal right to work in France

Qualifications :

  Ph.D. in Communication or relevant discipline; ABD candidates will be considered.

Other :

This course is being offered for the study abroad program in Fall 2023.

The dates for the fall session are August 28, 2023 to December 14, 2023. The class will meet two hours and forty minutes per week for 40 contact hours in total. Classes typically run Monday through Thursday.
