Responsibilities :
The Coordinator of Student Activities designs, implements, and manages activities and community service opportunities for students participating in St. John's study abroad programs on the Paris Campus. The Coordinator assists the Assistant Director in program implementation and organization. The person in this position reports to the Assistant Director and has no leadership or supervision roles.
Essential Functions:

Work with the Assistant Director to create and implement an exciting events and excursions program that emphasizes engagement with local culture.

Primarily manage semester programs while “seconding” short-term and summer programs.

Create and facilitate a broad and vibrant local excursion program within Paris to introduce students to the history and culture of the city.

Design and lead regional excursions in France.

Plan for all logistical details in close collaboration with the Assistant Director.

Assist with the design and facilitation of a thorough orientation to all students upon arrival, with a full explanation of expectations, programming, and rules related to the students' stay in Paris.

In conjunction with other Paris staff, work to ensure the health, safety, and general welfare of all students on St. John's program in keeping with protocols and guidelines established by St. John's.

Co-facilitate the Cultural Mentoring Program as needed.

Support with summer and short-term program planning and execution as needed.

Track expenses, file receipts, and administer semester program funds within budget and according to protocols established by the Office of Business Affairs.

Report weekly to the Assistant Director on financial matters.

Coordinate payment to guest lecturers, tour guides, transportation, and other vendors, museum visits, etc.

Support and manage the Vincentian community service program (Community Engaged Learning and other community service initiatives) by maintaining relationships with local service partners, sourcing new partnerships, and ensuring student attendance.

Serve as the first point of contact in the office for students with questions or concerns.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, participate in daily operations of the Paris Campus, including program administration, health and safety, crisis communications, and reporting.

Serve as part of a 24/7 on-call student emergency response rotation.

Coordinate response to such emergencies, as needed, in a manner consistent with St. John's emergency response protocols.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

1-2 years of related experience in the study abroad field.

Authorized to work in the Schengen area.

Fluent in French and English.

Ability to work flexibly, based on program needs
Preferred Education and Experience:
-
Master's in a related field.

3-5 years of related experience in the study abroad field.

Experience with educational systems in both France and the US.
Other :
-
Fixed, non-negotiable salary of 30,000 euros gross per annum.
Conditions :
Work Environment:
This position involves working both on campus and outdoors. The professional office environment involves the use of standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, copiers, multimedia equipment, etc.
Physical Demands:
The ability to walk for extended periods of time while on trips/site visits with students.
Environmental Conditions:
The ability to perform work duties outdoors in occasionally adverse weather conditions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time position of 35 hours per week, as per French CBA. Office hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional evening/weekend/public holiday work due to programmatic needs or emergencies.
Travel:
Occasional field trips in France and travel to the New York and Rome campuses may be needed.
