This entails supporting the development of marketing, communications and recruitment strategies focused on these markets and supporting broader institutional efforts to enhance AUP visibility in France and elsewhere. JOB DESCRIPTION
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Support the recruitment to AUP of French students based in France
The post holder is responsible for supporting the student recruitment function across the French market, generating appropriately qualified enquiries and applicants across all categories of students (first year, transfer, visiting/COOP, summer, and graduate) in line with agreed targets. To achieve these goals, the post holder will develop and execute a range of activities, including targeted face-to-face and online marketing campaigns, presentations, and digital engagement, with the support of AUP’s Communications Office and other relevant colleagues across campus. A central part of the role is building and maintaining strong relationships with French high schools, guidance counsellors, alumni, and other relevant networks, ensuring AUP is visible and well positioned within the French educational landscape.
Support the recruitment to AUP of French students based internationally and in the Francophone world
In addition to the French domestic market, the post holder supports recruitment among French-speaking students internationally, including those studying at French lycées and international schools abroad, as well as within the wider Francophone world. This involves representing AUP at education fairs, school visits, and other strategic events, while tailoring communications and messaging to resonate with the cultural and academic expectations of Francophone students and their families. The post holder also helps design and implement targeted outreach strategies, coordinate French-language digital campaigns, and cultivate strong links with overseas guidance counsellors, institutions, and community networks.
Represent the University
The post holder represents the University at a range of events, including school visits, education fairs and exhibitions, and individual meetings with schools, colleges, universities, and other stakeholders. In doing so, the post holder is expected to develop appropriate relationships with all relevant individuals and institutions that contribute to successful student recruitment. Substantial international and national travel is an essential component of this aspect of the role.
Support current AUP students wishing to remain at the University
The post holder is responsible for supporting all currently enrolled undergraduate students who wish to remain at AUP. This primarily involves two populations: first, students categorized as ‘visitors’ who are interested in extending their period at AUP or becoming degree-seeking students; and second, students categorized as ‘COOP’ who also wish to convert to degree-seeking status. Work in this area requires responsiveness to enquiries, regular face-to-face contact with students and liaison with other departments on campus, particularly Academic Affairs.
Manage all pre-application enquiries
Together with colleagues in similar roles, the post holder manages all pre-application enquiries to AUP via the CRM system, telephone, and face-to-face contacts. Queries are answered using templated responses appropriate to the nature of the enquiry. Efficient and timely responses are essential, and work is organized on a rota basis depending on workload and the time of year.
Manage all post-offer contacts and yield activities
As a member of the Student Recruitment Team, the post holder manages the relationship with students from their assigned geographical territories who have received an offer of admission, guiding them through to enrollment. The post holder oversees a defined group of students, working proactively to ensure they confirm their place and complete the enrolment process at AUP. Success in this area is measured through key metrics such as conversion rates, confirmations, and other relevant data.
Development of market intelligence and awareness
The post holder maintains a keen awareness of developments and trends in all country markets for which they are responsible. This includes developing a list of relevant resources, attending meetings and conferences, participating in regular Admissions Office update sessions, liaising with academic colleagues, and maintaining a network of professional contacts.
Create an effective network across the AUP campus
The post holder develops and maintains a network across the AUP campus to support student recruitment. This includes administrative and academic staff, as well as various student organisations active on campus.
Contribute to the development of a team ethic
The post holder is responsible, along with colleagues, for fostering a strong team working ethic. While each post holder has clearly defined responsibilities, all members of the Student Recruitment Team are expected to develop a working knowledge of all areas of team activity.
Support the overall mission of the Admissions Office
The post holder may be called upon to support activities across all aspects of student recruitment and admissions at the discretion of the Vice President and Director of Enrolment Management. The need for such support depends on factors such as the time of year, team workload, staff absences, and external environmental changes.
Other duties
The post holder may also participate in transversal projects the University wishes to explore. Additional appropriate duties may be assigned by the Supervisor according to the needs of the Admissions Office.
